<p>When you are performing yoga you will be putting a certain amount of pressure on your body. So with this in mind you will need to perform your exercises on either a proper yoga mat or just on a blanket to start with.</p>
<p>Like most work out routines you must make sure that you stretch properly before you attempt to do any yoga exercises. This is because when you do your yoga exercises for the first time you will undoubtedly get into some positions that your body has not experienced before. Stretching will enable the muscles to freely get into these positions and you should feel the benefits more.</p>
<p>You may think that yoga is easy and try to push yourself too far too quickly. It is better to know your limits and just work within those limits at first so that you enjoy your yoga rather than thinking it is a chore.</p>
<p>Try to pace yourself and start off with basic poses at first until you are used to them. Yoga should be relatively simple and you should feel relaxed doing the exercises. One you have mastered these basic poses then you can advance to the next level.</p>
<p>Many people start off with a meditation pose for their first yoga pose. This is commonly referred to as the Sukhasana. The idea is to sit with your feet underneath your crossed legs whilst holding your knees gently.</p>
